Abstract
Technical English aims at developing the power of communication in English, spiced with fluency and accuracy. Developing communicative skills has become one of the priorities in all technical institutes. Developing communication skills is based on the development of the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Literature goes a long way in developing the communicative skills in an effective way. English Language has become an indispensable educational pattern in all technical institutions around the globe. English education has become the basic humanistic discipline and it follows a certain set pattern in all the Indian Universities. To stress the importance of the communication skills and to avoid the rapid decline in academic standards, the universities in India have stressed the need for including English as a part of general education in our curriculum.
