Abstract
Jigawa state has a lot of people with a population of 4.361 million with majority being Muslims with about 75% and Christians 25%, with these the challenges facing the youth is low education and awareness which leads the youth to drugs intake and harmful substance, poverty and unemployment also played a huge role in youth engaging themselves to drugs at a young age, some of the youth get driven by their friends, they were entice by them to start taking hard drugs and behaving badly as such leads to mental illness, such activities also leads the youth to start stealing money from parents or start robbery nearby shops and scaring people for money, in extent it also leads to kidnapping because of their mental instability. With such behaviour they found themselves committing more heinous crimes in society and causing havocs and conflict in Jigawa state.
