Abstract
Teachers are the nation builders. The role of teachers in imparting the knowledge and skills to the citizens of tomorrow is crucial .The job satisfaction among the teaching community especially who are dealing with the teenaged group is a buzzing word now- a- days. This study aims at to investigate the present level of job satisfaction of Higher Secondary Teachers of Kozhikode District in Kerala. In this research 50 teachers from Government and 50 teachers from Private Higher Secondary Schools were examined The obtained data were analyzed based on the descriptive statistics using SPSS Version 16. Independent sample t-test has been used to analyze the job satisfaction level among male & female teachers from rural and urban areas of Government and Private schools. The study revealed that there is no significance difference between in their level of satisfaction irrespective of their gender and locality.
