Abstract

This paper analyzes the effect on fuel economy of emission controls on automobiles. The analysis examines the various vehicle design factors affecting motor vehicle fuel economy Fuel penalties which may be associated with emission control systems are placed into the perspective of other fuel penalties which are currently, or may in the future, be experienced by the motoring public. To gain competitive advantage, automobile shops try to streamline their processes. It is essential to have an accurate view of the “careflows” under consideration by applying process mining techniques to obtain meaningful knowledge about these flows.
