Abstract

Over the past decade, the number of smartphone users has been widespread among people. Nowadays we could see no single individual exists without smartphone .The habit of smartphone addiction has become inevitable in this techno era for all the information from education to entertainment is floating in the virtual arena. Amidst that, the usage of social media becomes necessary for the youngsters to get connected always. Irrespective of gender, people are curious in connecting and expressing through social media platforms such as whatsapp, Facebook, twitter, instagram etc. Like any walk of life, this virtual world is no exception in bullying particularly, thewomen.  This thematic paper attempts to create awareness on the cyber bullying on women, the patriarchal approach in cyber bullying and whether the jurisdiction of India prevents such crime effectively or not.
