Abstract
Throughout history, women have struggled a lot to gain equality, respect and the same rights as men. This has been difficult because of patriarchy, ideology in which men are superior to women and have the right too rule women. In a recent survey by World Health Organization, It indicates that 35 percent of women experience some form of abuse or physical violence. As law enforcement agencies strive to improve policing, a silent battle, in parallel, is also being fought on the digital turf by mobile applications and wearable devices to ensure women safety. Basically the application started with the wavelet bracelets and then to Bluetooth devices and now various apps are developed to protect the violence against women. These apps provide hope for women safety measures and helps to stop the crime issues against women. This article discuss about the history of how the technology enters into the field of women safety and the various apps available inside India to safe guard women against various harassments.
