Abstract

Gender-based violence (GBV) is a human rights violation, a public health challenge, and a barrier to civic, social, political, and economic participation. It undermines not only the safety, dignity, overall health status, and human rights of the millions of individuals who experience it, but also the public health, economic stability, and security of nations.  It is high time to prevent and abolish gender based violence of any form.  It is the duty of every citizen to produce violence free and peaceful nation as thought by our Father of our Nation, Gandhiji.  This paper focuses on the preventive measures taken by UNHCR  for all people including older people, women and children.
