Abstract
Globally, women are the victims of domestic violence and they are exposed to worst forms of domestic violence. Overwhelmingly women are more exposed to intimate partner violence. In some communities, and in most of the countries domestic violence is justified, more specifically in the cases of affected and due to suspicious infidelity. Some of the countries, even today consider domestic violence as justified. World wide domestic violence is the most underreported crimes. Indian women are more prone to domestic violence and the abusers believe that abuse is there entitlement and they take the advantage of not being reported. Many of our Indian women do not recognise themselves as abusers or victims. In this paper the investigator assess the level of awareness of Domestic violence Act and its uses by the house maid, working women and also to find if there is any significant difference in awareness of Domestic violence Act by house maid and working women. 50 Victims who were affected by Domestic Violence of Nanganallur area has been taken of which 25 were house maids and 25 were working women ..
