Abstract
In any human society, there are some differences, at different levels between the role of men and women. These differences are social and cultural constructions of masculinities and femininities. Gender is thus the cultural definition of behavior defined as appropriate to thesexes in a given society at a given time. Gender discrimination, also called sexual discrimination, is any motion that in particular denies opportunities, privileges, or rewards to a person (or a set) because of gender.Women in Indian society always as dependent on men for her protection. Women‘s roles and boundaries are fixed and non-permeable even in the present time.
