Abstract
The present paper deals with the current legal position of Foreign Exchange law. The paper throws light on the historical perspective of Foreign Exchange law. The paper states the circumstances which compelled the enactment of the FEMA, 1999. The paper highlights the key differences in the functioning of FERA and FEMA.
