Abstract
Mahesh Dattani, one of the most celebrated Indian English Dramatists with Sahitya Academy award on his name, explicates the life of modern urban middle class in his plays. His plays are th the plays of today representing the hardest realities of contemporary urban middle and upper class. He aims at representing their aspirations, frustrations. problems and conflicts. He covers various themes like gender issues, LGBT, feminine sensibility, marginalization, child abuse and psychological struggle. He is someone who has represented the conflicts related to the issues of identity in a multicultural society. This paper aims at making an analysis of various themes dealt by Dattani and his approach to the invisible issues which are also known as non-Indian.
