Abstract
Education Play a vital role in the development of socio politico-economic of every society. In fact, modern education system had touched the Naga Hill when the British established their administration. The introduction of western education in Naga Hills during the British rule has gradually transformed the non-literate Naga society. However, it has to be noted that education system during the colonial period was mainly controlled by Christian Missionaries. It became the primary means by which people were prepared to become Christian and it resulted only half of education. An education that did not provide the hill people with certain analytical skill necessarily to function at an advanced level in modern society.
