Abstract

The employee turnover is usually related with employees’ dissatisfaction. If a person is not happy with the work culture or attitude or behavior of his colleagues, he ends up in leaving an organization. This demotivation once felt by an employee leads him to stress and conflicts at workplace. Also once an employee leaves an organization, the management also has to suffer and incur expenses for fresh recruitment and all this is a time consuming process. Therefore it has become important for employers to ensure employees’ job satisfaction for mutual benefit. The aim of this paper is to identify the variables which effect the job satisfaction of healthcare employees. The dimensions studied under this survey were as Welfare Schemes, Possibilities for development, Meaning of Work.100 questionnaires were distributed to medical and para medical staff employed at private healthcare hospitals of J&K. Findings from the study are significant to organizations influencing job satisfaction of employees and will help hospitals to increase employee motivation.
