Abstract

Culture is the replica of  beliefs, behaviors, objects and other characteristics of a particular group or society. In the case of Kenya, colonization becomes a big barrier for the natives to follow their way of living. The system introduced by the whites is against the belief of Africans. In order to liberate their country, Kenyans have faced lots of exploitation. In A Grain of Wheat Ngugi presents the struggle of Thabai villagers. It is a story of common people and their constant struggle against exploitation. Colonizers have used every possible way to suppress natives. A novel also presents dark experiences of emergency in Kenya led by colonisers.
