Abstract

Banking is one of the dominant sectors in India’s GDP contribution and a major source of employment. The paper portrays to identify the drivers of the employee engagement in the banking sector. The study was conducted with 150 samples. The responses are collected through self-structured questionnaire based on five point Likert scale. Percentage analysis has been used for analysis of data. The result shows that there is a significant relationship between organizational climate and employee engagement. The study also focuses on organizational climate factors such as structure, responsibility, standards, support, commitment, reward, warmth and risk and conflict that affect the employees’ counterproductive behaviours that act as a driver for engaging the bank employees. It is expected that the findings will provide vital input to managers in framing the HR strategies.
