Abstract

The purpose of the study designed to find out the effects of varied frequencies of plyometric training on selected strength related components of college men.  For this purpose, forty five men students studying bachelor’s degree in engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology Chennai campus Tamil Nadu, India were selected as subjects at random and they were divided randomly into three Experimental groups of fifteen each, Group-I underwent plyometric training two day per week group, Group-II underwent plyometric training three day per week group and Group-III underwent plyometric training four day per week group.  The training period was limited to eight week.  The dependent variables selected for this study were arm strength leg strength and explosive strength. All the subjects were prior and to and immedediatly after from the experimental groups before and after the experimental period were statistically analyzed with of covariance (ANCOVA). Whenever the ‘F’ ratio for adjusted posttest means was found to be significant the Scheffe’s test was applied as post –hoc test to determine the paired mean differences. The level of fixed at .05 level for all the cause. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference was found among all the experimental groups on the selected variables.
