Abstract

The most immediate issue in Human Resource arena is that 80% of middle management has retired in the last ten years; the leadership pipeline is worrying. There is a recruitment of 5 to 7 lakh people taken place over the last ten years. There is emerging need of quality manpower for various banking domains like risk management, treasury, finance, credit, project finance including infrastructure finance, marketing, inclusive growth etc. The issue is how to get the people with right skill sets and retain them. The present paper has tried to look the question of human capital with special reference to banks in India.
