Abstract

The scene of politics has been one of the major issues of the novels of most of the Indian English novelists. Much has been written on political life of politics among masses.


The present paper studies the political deterioration and its impact on society as depicted in the novel An Abbreviated Child by Rita Garg. The novelist with the examples of mythical kings and historical references has remarkably described the good conduct ideology. She emphasises the corrupt politics can never do any good to common people. Honesty and sacrifices are the pillars to give strength but politics has become murderous.
