Abstract
‘Health is Wealth’. There is nothing more valuable than a good health. Good health not only brings happiness to human life but also makes an important contribution to the economic progress of the nation. In the Indian Scenario, the private hospital has emerged as a dynamic force, gaining both national and international reputation. Many private hospitals come with innovative ideas, services or cutting edge which will distinguish them from competitors in terms of brand choice, immediate selection and consumer satisfaction. Due to the high-end technologies, superior devices and trustworthy surgical procedures, the private healthcare sector is gaining higher preference by Indians for their health related needs, further contribution to the growth of the private sector to multifold. With the growing importance of healthy life style among the peoples and there is a significant increase in the demand of health care services of private hospitals. So competition in this sector has gained momentum in the recent years. Therefore, a study on threat of entrants of private hospitals in this sector is desirable as the competition level in health care sector is high.
