Abstract

The aim of this paper is to highlight the difference between the current curriculum with outcome-based/competency-based curriculum in arts and science colleges. It also explores how outcome- based curriculum enhances the teaching learning quality and how it can be successfully implemented in place of the present curriculum where the former one assures a holistic focus on the outcomes at course level and programme level.  This paper specifically focuses on arts courses’ curriculum design in Arts and Science educational curriculum and focuses how the new approach tries to bring balance between knowledge and competency.
