Abstract
Teachers are generally expected to perform their duties on the basis of job assigned to them and the subjects they are required to teach to a particular class in a school. A teacher is a person who is not just qualified for a teaching job and educates others but also at the same time he is a facilitator for his students in providing a course of studywhich covers a standardized curriculum which will ultimately help them in opting either higher education or vocation. A commerce teacher should possess all the qualities like having good academic record with professional qualification, good command over the subject matter, knowledge of commerce based magazines and journals, career counsellor and understanding of current needs of the society and the demands of dynamic business world for which students are prepared. The present paper will throw light on the qualities of a good commerce teacher as well as the duties they are expected to discharge. Since teachers are responsible for providing a better tomorrow to his students, so he must be competent enough to modify his strategies of teaching and motivate his students to be prepared to serve the country.
