Abstract
India is a land of diversity with pluralistic cultural ethos which has been always been assimilative of other cultures. The research paper “Assimilative Tendencies of Indian Culture: An Overview” seeks to probe the ways in which Indian culture has historically evolved so as to make room for different cultural formations which has led to “hybridity” of a kind which is unknown of in any other part of the world. This uniqueness of Indian culture is being investigated critically in the paper so as to understand its assimilative tendencies.
