Abstract

With the spread of education and wide career options, many young generation women without any business background have choosen entrepreneurship as their career, popularly known as ‘First Generation Women Entrepreneurs’. As these women have started a business on their own they have to continuously strike a balance between their professional and family life. The present paper is an attempt to study the journey of 100 ‘First Generation Women Entrepreneurs’. It throws light on how they have succeeded to maintain a balance between the household and entrepreneurial work.It was found that women need to maintain work life balance in their career regardless of work pressure and requirement of business. Majority of women have opted to start their own business and are managing both their business chores and family commitment.
