Abstract
Today the World has changed with new Technological innovations and it has increased the learner’s crisis also. English Language Teaching and patterns for learning are changing rapidly and profoundly due to the emergence and expansion of this global language. There are new demands and challenges in teaching education programmes in general and English language teaching programme. There is a need for using English language in India for two very practical reasons. First, we need English, the single most important world language, at the present time, because we would have a continuing source of scholarly materials in English, which have served us in the past and will continue to be of use for a long time to come. Secondly, India happens to be a multi-lingual country and English serves to be a lingua franca even within our country. So, there is definitely a necessity to retain the English language and strengthen its teaching and learning.
