Abstract
This article describes how important tourism is to the development of Tamil Nadu. Tourism is one of the fastest growing service industries in the country, with considerable potential for further expansion and diversification. Tourism plays a major role in the economic development of any country. It helps the country in providing employment opportunities to a large number of people. In addition, it is one of the most important engines to attract more foreign exchange with its efficiency. We need to focus on liberal policies, tax avoidance, comprehensive packages to influence tourists and foreign investment. There is a need to increase the role of the Tamil Nadu government in developing tourism and settling in the global market. This study sample analyzes the level of living and costs of respondents and the economic impact of tourism in the study area. The analysis shows that the tourism industry has no adverse impact on the study area, so the government must move forward to develop leisure tourism, religious tourism, rural tourism and medical tourism, especially in backward areas, which will directly assist regional inequalities.
