Abstract
The global environmental issues such as global warming, climate change, loss of biodiversity, deforestation, ozone depletion promotes the research and development of electric vehicles. The electricalmachines are used in Electric Vehicles (EV) and numbers of manufacturing companies are doing research on the electric motor performance, electric drives and battery life. The research work explained here gives the general idea of the PMSM design used in electric vehicles, its analysis for different stator slot configurations, slots/pole ratios, rotor configurations, type of PM material used, stack length, back iron, dimensions of the magnet. The design is done in RMxprt as per the required characteristics of the EVs.
