Abstract

Olga Tokarczuk is a polish writer, activist and public intellectual who have been described as one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful author of her generation. “Flights” is one of the greatest appreciated novel of her, which was awarded with Man Booker International Prize 2018.Originally it was published in polish as “Bieguni”. The book was translated in to English by Jennifer Croft. A philosophical meditation in anatomy, time and travel, all three are intrinsically linked throughout the novel. When we go through this novel, it’s effectively a meditation on transitions-particularly modern travel but also on fluidity and mobility. Typically this novel relating to anatomical themes- the human body and the historical parallels between mapping the complexities of the body and mapping the world. In this article we are discussing about the philosophical and psychological cogitate of human beings through a modern day travel within the reference of narrators own personal experience.
