Abstract

Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) are products that are sold quickly and at relatively low cost and reasonably priced products which are frequently purchased on a regular basis. FMCG products have a short life and usually replaced are sold over a short period frequently within a limited number of days, weeks and months.  The study is carried out to determine the consumer’s behavior and to identify the preferences and satisfaction level of FMCG products around Dindigul District. Now a day the consumer’s tastes have changed from simple household products to packed ready to use goods. Although the profit margin in FMCG products is comparatively low but they generally sold in large quantity thus, the cumulative profit is high. The purpose of this study is to examine the consumer preferences and satisfaction level towards FMCG sector and to study the factors which influencing the consumers to prefer a particular product of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG). The data for the study has been collected through interview schedule from 200 respondents through structured questionnaire.
