Abstract
There is no better tool for protection and development than the empowerment of women. It is said in dictums that “ by educating a man we educate a man but by educating a woman we educate family, society or in general the Nation.” Strength of women is nowhere hidden but the lacuna is it has been forgotten. This article focuses on study of the changing role of women in different phases of society from ancient times to the contemporary world. Women population being around fifty percent of the total population of the world, they have right to be treated equally with men in every walk of life. The essence of the whole study is that welfare of the world is impossible unless the condition of women is not improved. It is impossible to run a furtherance forms society which ultimately results in nation.
