Abstract

Gelatin as a green corrosion inhibitor and it’s adsorption properties with Cl- for the corrosion inhibition of mild steel in 0.5M sulphuric acid were studied using potentiondynamic, gasometric, weight loss and thermometric monitoring corrosion. The results shows that Gelatin inhibited the process of corrosion of mild steel. Gelatin was found to function by being adsorbed on the surface of mild steel. Gelatin shows synergism with Cl- and inhibition increases with concentration of Cl-. The adsorption of the Gelatin followed Langmuir adsorption isotherm. and Kinetic and thermodynamic  parameter also measured and discussed.
