Virtually every study on athletic performance shows that both team and individual sports shows that a diet rich in carbohydrate improves running performance. Nutritional research from 1970’s show Sports players chose a diet rich in approximately 40% carbohydrates, 20% fat and 40% protein. What’s more shocking is that in 1994 FIFA World Cup Sports players thought that food had nothing to do with their performance. Studies show that a player who consumes a balanced diet rich in carbohydrate will last longer and run faster in the game.
