Abstract

Various electrocardiographic abnormal findings in acute organophosphate pesticide poisoning have been reported along with the associated structural myocardial damage. In the past couple of decades, the incidence of organophosphorus pesticide poisoning is increasing in countries where agriculture is the main occupation. Therefore, this systematic review study is undertaken to explore the present status of the research on the electrocardiographic findings in organophosphate pesticide poisoning. The results of this review article deliver strong evidence that organophosphate pesticide poisoning increases the risk of myocardial damage across diverse populations. Moreover, the results of this review suggest that prolonged QTc interval is the commonest abnormality among different electrocardiographic findings.
