Abstract

AravindAdiga is an eminent Indian novelist. The White Tiger is his debut and Man Booker Prize winning novel. It is a socio-political critical study of Modern India. The novel is described through letters by BalramHalwai to the Premier of China. The Premier of China will shortly be visiting India. It deals with man’s journey for freedom. BalramHalwai is the protagonist of this novel. He is the victim of poverty, inequality and injustice. He belongs to the lower caste and he overcame the social hindrance and become a successful Entrepreneur.  It shows how the politicians have deceived the people of India by creating a false sense of development. It interprets the life and culture of the people both in rural and urban society. It shows how the rich has been exploiting the poor over centuries.
