Abstract
Urban legends are a popular form of modern folklore in today’s society. They are generally fascinating rumors and corporate misdeeds with harrowing details that exhilarate and sometimes instigate their audience. Many times, they consist of the history of a person or places with them and moral lessons too. Ranchi is a district of Jharkhand having a vast population of tribal. Therefore, the urban legends of the Ranchi district consist of the impression of tribal within them. This paper will deal with the concept of urban legends and the tribal impression upon the urban legends of the Ranchi district.
