Abstract

The world is the world of crisis today. Terrorism, injustice, religious intolerance, communal riots etc. are the order of the day. Neither a seventy year old lady nor a seven months baby girl is safe today. Why? Where did we go wrong? Can we do whatever we want to do? Are we really free to play with the religious sentiments of the mass? We always claim that we are free moral agents. Freedom is our natural right. Enough battles are already been fought in the name of freedom. But the irony is that we demand for freedom without owning any degree of responsibility. What a predicament of human psyche? However, both freedom and responsibility are co-relatives. Freedom is meaningful only in the backdrop of responsibility and responsibility presupposes that the moral agent is free. Further, both freedom and responsibility are meaningful only in the Philosophy of Action.
