Abstract

The infrastructure is one of the most basic physical and organizational structure needed for efficient and proper functioning of a society. In a developing society, we must aim for universal accessibility wherein provision is applicable for independent approach, entry, exit, use of services and facilities by all indiviualsirrerespective of disability, age or gender. Around 15% of the world’s population live with one or the other form of disabilityand a majority of 80% of these individuals live in developing nations, it is therefore of vital importance that educational and other institutions adapt universal designing wherein the specially abled individuals face no issues in accessing the various facilities. The researcher aimed on identifying the various issues faced by specially abled individuals in the district of Chamrajnagar. A total of 354 respondents were selected for the study and the results indicated that approximately 55% of the selected sample had problems with registration process and more so in the case of blind students.
