Abstract

Higher education acts as a bridging gap that provides the necessary skills, Knowledge, specialization, competencies to survive this competitive world. On the other hand, expansion and diversification is not possible without proper Research. Research is an organised inquiry into the subject matter. A good deal of research will help to stand in the real towering competitive world. There have been many diverse forces that have contributed to noteworthy changes in research and higher education which lead to significant improvement in the field of  higher education . As Higher education and Research, both are essential for developing and progressing on an individual basis as well as a society at large the researcher would like to discuss the role of research in higher education from teachers as well as students viewpoint. The objectives of the current study are 1) To analyse the role of higher education in research. 2) To understand the ideology of research-based learning. 3) To discover educators research barriers. 4) To understand the tribulations faced by researchers. The study is qualitative as well as quantitative. The study was carried out by distributing structured questionnaire for professors and students.
