Abstract

Youth unemployment has been the subject of much concern in India over the last few decades, and experts from academia and industry state that two of the key reasons why young people are struggling to find suitable jobs after graduation are a poor level of communicative English and a lack of soft skills. Even Thousands of graduates and post graduates are losing out in the market because of lack of these skills. Being technically sound or just acquiring hard skills is not enough today to make one’s professional life complete, successful and satisfactory. Employers today are paying more and more attention to soft skills, sometimes also referred to as 21st century skills, but the term is often interpreted differently by different people. An ever-expanding variety of skills is vital for professional graduates who need to keep up with today’s global work environment, characterized by marked competitiveness.
