Abstract

The British India got divided into two independent countries, India and Pakistan on communal basis in 1947. The outcomes of Partition were unforeseen and it still keeps onperturbing the consciousness of people living in the borders. A large number of individuals lost their life, many lost their family members, many were displaced and many were injured. Women were abducted, raped, and even mutilated and killed. The issues of the refugees have been discussed by many writers in their works. The purpose of this study was to study the delineation of the sufferings of the uprooted in Chaman Nahal’s Azadi.He depicted the psychological trauma that the refugees had endured during their struggle to exist in their native soil.
