Abstract

In this paper an attempt has been made to study economic and social infrastructure development in Haryana for the year 2000-01 and 2017-18. The study also analyzed the developed and less developed districts in economic and social infrastructure. Composite index has been constructed to find out the development of districts. Principal Component Analysis has been used to get factor loadings and weights of selected indicators. Rohtak district was found on top in 2000-01, but in 2017-18 Rohtak severely slipped down to 15th position due to poor performance in economic and health infrastructure. Gurugram district exemplary improved its position from 14th in 2000-01 to first position in 2017-18 by great performance in economic and education infrastructure. District of Rewari was found in developed category while district of Jind remained on last position throughout the study period.
