Abstract
Higher Education plays an important role in the sustainable development of a country. Education means not only to literate yourself but much more it is acquiring knowledge, learning with a skill that inclination for making profitable use of knowledge. Only our knowledge can help with our sustainable future. The goals of the 21st century should be growth and equity with the conservation of water, energy, health, agriculture and biodiversity. These aims can be achieved with the support of the government, private business, nonprofit organization, scholars, students, and concern citizens. In this paper, we present the role of higher education in the sustainable development of Uttarakhand State of India.
