Abstract

This study sought to determine the comparative differences in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities initiated or practiced in India and Canada using CSR reports as well as annual reports published by the selected Indian and Canadian companies. Our analysis has been conducted in a sample of top five pairs companies selected based on [1] similarities of the category of the industries which they belong [2] based on Market Capitalization as well as [3] listed in BSE (Indian Companies) and TXS (Canadian Companies) respectively.  To fulfill the Objective a study, exploratory in nature, was resorted as no prior comparative research work exists on CSR activities initiated in India and Canada. The outcome of the study reveals that there exists both unique the similarities as well as differences between the two countries in the contexts of CSR activities initiatives.
