Abstract
Musical skill of an individual is said to be indicated by digit ratio. Digit ratio in individuals with different skills was measured. Higher 1D:2D and 1D:4D ratios of right hand and lower 2D:3D ratio for left hand was found in vocalists and a higher right hand 1D:3D, left leg 2D:5D and 3D:5D ratios and lower left-hand 3D:5D and 4D:5D ratios were found in instrumentalists. The results are discussed. Digit ratios along with flair for music may soon emerge as a tool for early identification of musical talent in kids. This will turn out to be economically feasible.
