Abstract

Although the concept has become popular in recent years, emotional intelligence has not been new. A quote from the Times magazine-"Intelligence quotient (IQ) gets hired but you get promoted by emotional quotient (EQ)" made the concept more popular. The ability to identify and manage your own emotions and other people's emotions is emotional intelligence. The intelligence quotient and the emotional quotient shape up a successful person. This also requires three abilities such as emotional awareness, awareness of harnessing and applying emotions to activities such as thinking and solving problems, the ability to manage emotions, which involves controlling your own emotions and cheering up and calming the emotions of others.
