Abstract
Waste management is an important technique needed in the direction of conservation of environment. Stopping environmental pollution is the need of the hour to conserve our ecosystem. There are various scientific techniques to dispose the biodegradable waste. For the present articlethree case studies were considered. The Biogas generation, vermicompostingproduction and pot compost. These three are very effective techniques which are practised in Dakshina Kannada district. This paper is done with the objective of creating awareness and imparting knowledge of the same among the people. The application of knowledge is needed at the house hold level wherein segregation of wet waste and dry waste is the first step. The initiative at the level of the local administration is very much essential to see that their area is maintained clean and healthy.
