Abstract

It has been globally accepted that women entrepreneurship development results in overall economic and social development. There is need for encouraging women entrepreneurship as this would empower women and bring them into the main stream of development, thereby improve their economic status. While women entrepreneurs have demonstrated their potential, the fact remains that they are capable of contributing much more than what they already do. It is necessary to formulate appropriate strategies to stimulate, support and sustain efforts of women entrepreneurs in order to harness their potential and enable their continued growth. The population of the study is 266 women run small scale enterprises. For the purpose of this study the required database of women entrepreneurs is been collected from D.I.C. This study is based on secondary sources of data provided by government reports, internet sources, review of some selected articles, periodicals etc.
