Abstract
The role of educational institution is more in enhancing students’ knowledge. Education provides competitive edge in the career market. College encourages the students to think, analyse, explore new ideas, to ask questions and to be creative etc. Students have several aspirations and dreams as they join college. Though changes are rapidly being implemented to make college life better in terms of both academics and life skills, students believe that there are a lot of grey areas that need to be tackled. This paper tries to focus and highlight the expectations of students from education institutions in making students not just employable for modern professions but also teach the values, ethics to their life. Knowing areas where students differ in their knowledge, skills and abilities can help stakeholders (-faculty, administrators, authorities etc).to re-examine the curricula and redesign their strategies, methods and techniques to offer opportunities for all students to realise the personal, social economic and occupational benefits of college education. For this study, 100 students were selected as a target group to understand their mindset.
