Abstract

Digitalization changed the world to such an extent that any one in any corner of world can get connected to each other within fraction of second. To do any work with greater speed and lower cost and to achieve efficiency and effectiveness, everyone in the world hugged digitalization. As per Global Digital Report 2019, the number of internet users worldwide in 2019 is 4.388 billion, increased by 9.1% year-on-year. The number of social media users worldwide in 2019 is 3.484 billion increased by9% year-on-year. The number of mobile phone users in 2019 is 5.112 billion, up 2% year-on-year (17). The extent of growth of social networking in India indicates that we are addicted to social media. Taking into consideration previous studies made on demographics, social media usage and political engagement of youth, researcher get interested to analyze relationship between demographic aspects of social media users(youth) and their political participation. Statistical technique was used to test hypothesis.
