Abstract
State Government Finances is one of the important area in the field of Public Finance. Political philosophy of the Government is always reflected through its budgets. Budget is plan of government receipts and expenditure. The research paper tries to analyse the problem of State finance in the state of Goa during the pre-statehood period (1980-1986) and post-statehood period(1987-2019).The Present paper analyses the overall budgetary position of state finances in Goa during the pre-statehood period and post-statehood period. It highlights the overall budgetary position of the Goa taking into consideration the receipts and expenditure of state government during the period of the study.
