Abstract

Stress is a universal and common challenge to organization and employee productivity (Dr. Samuel Ajayi). Job stress is the harmful physical and psychological response that can occur when there is a conflict between job demands on the employee and the amount of control an employee has over meeting these demands. This study was carried to investigate the job stress and work productivity levels in order to examine the effects of job stress on work productivity.  Productivity can be defined as "a measure of the quantity and quality of work done considering the cost of the resource it took to do the work." (Mathis and Jackson, 2000). There can be a number of factors responsible that contribute to job stress.
